Things that annoy me when I see packing videos on Youtube

We will be going to a trip next month and as this is our first time travelling with our 6 months old son, I went on Youtube to find ideas about packing for babies. I found nothing much that I don’t already know, but I found a lot of things that annoy me about these packing videos, here are a few:

1.       No compartmentalisation

When these people fold their shirts, pants and underwear then just pile them in an open suitcase I imagine them walking in the airport and their bag exploding. And their clothes burst everywhere and rained on everyone. Have they never thought that sometimes you may need to open your suitcase in public to get something? How are you able to do that if you need to sort through your panties or boxers to get them?

Compartmentalising your clothes in packing cubes or pouches makes everything so organised and it is easier for you to find the thing that you need in a hurry. Doing this also makes it easier for you to repack and unpack when you reach your holiday destination or when you are back home. Just remember to pack an extra plastic bag for your laundry and this will ensure your suitcase looking tidy and your clean clothes will not stink

2.       BRINGING TOO MANY THINGS

Why, just why?

3.       Ziplock bags

Unless you reuse those ziplock bags; and honestly you would never reuse them because it gets wrinkly and ugly and gross, it is SO wasteful to always pack things in ziplock bags. Just get one clear bag for your toiletries and use that forever. I can see the benefit of packing daily clothes for your toddler/babies in individual ziplock bags but thinking that I need to get 10 ziplock bags for a 10 day trip makes me cringe (and who even pack 10 sets of clothes for a 10 day trip?Dont they know the existence of washing machine ? ), so I will stick with rolling one day clothes together and putting them in the kid's cube.

Hopefully we have enough things and have an enjoyful trip!
